O Come All Ye Faithful

O Come All Ye Faithful has been sung in churches for hundreds of years. Some say it is the greatest carol ever written. I know it is one of my all time favorite Christian Christmas songs.

I was shocked when I read that the author of this great hymm was unknown for two hundred years until around the end of World War II. An English scholar named Maurice Frost discovered some handwritten manuscripts of "O Come, All Ye Faithful" that were penned around 1750, signed by a Catholic priest - John Francis Wade.

O Come All Ye Faithful

O Come, All Ye Faithful

O Come All Ye Faithful
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

O Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing all that hear in heaven God's holy word.
Give to our Father glory in the Highest;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

All Hail! Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
O Jesus! for evermore be Thy name adored.
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
